UAE’s First 3D Printed Federal Guard Room – Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure
Project type
Large-Scale Buildings
Date
November 2021
Location
Al Madam Court Complex – Sharjah, UAE
Project Importance
Federal First: The project marks the first 3D printed government facility in the UAE, commissioned by the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure (MOEI).
Sustainability in Action: The construction method reduced material waste by over 60% and cut costs by up to 20%, aligning with UAE sustainability goals and MoEI’s strategy to integrate Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies.
Federal Infrastructure Innovation: This project is a working proof of concept for scalable 3D printed infrastructure in the public sector, setting a new precedent for how small-scale functional buildings can be built smarter.
Role of 3DVinci Creations
Design Optimization for 3D Printing: 3DVinci supported the design adaptation process, ensuring that the guard room met functional needs while being structurally compatible with additive construction.
End-to-End 3D Concrete Printing: 3DVinci fabricated the entire concrete structure on-site, layer by layer, using a custom concrete mix developed to withstand the harsh UAE climate.
Sustainable Local Execution: The mix used was created with locally sourced materials, providing thermal insulation and structural integrity with minimal environmental impact.
Collaborative Delivery: The project was executed in close coordination with MoEI engineers and local contractors, successfully demonstrating the potential of rapid, smart, and green construction.
